Microlit Ultimus is a Bottle Top Dispenser that works on Dual InletTM Technology, Recirculation Valve Technology and Springless ValveTM Technology. The Dual Inlet Technology, patented in the US and EU, enables 4 liquid handling modes – rinsing, dilution, refilling & purging without dismounting the dispenser.

Standard Dispensing: Knob A – Open, Knob B – Closed

In this mode, the dispenser dispenses the liquid normally into the receiver from the bottle it is mounted on.

Purging: Knob A – Closed, Knob B – Closed

In this mode, the liquid is recirculated into the same bottle on which the dispenser is mounted. This process removes the air from the dispenser, without wasting any reagent.

Dilution/Rinsing/Second Liquid Dispensing: Knob A – Open, Knob B – Open

In this mode, the liquid from a second source can be dispensed into the receiver. The second liquid can be distilled water, thus allowing the user to rinse the instrument without dismounting it or dilute the reagent within the receiver.

Bottle Refilling: Knob A – Closed, Knob B – Open

In this mode, the liquid from a second source can be used to refill the bottle, without dismounting the dispenser.

Designed with ergonomics and intuitive handling in mind, it offers excellent chemical compatibility and enables the achievement of precision in practical laboratory environments. Ultimus also features two product innovations: EasyKnob™ and FlexiNozzle™ that enhance its usability.

The error limits (Accuracy and Coefficient of Variation) mentioned above are in accordance
with the nominal capacity (or maximum volume) indicated on the instrument. These are obtained by using the instrument with distilled water at equilibrium, the ambient temperature of 20 °C while operating it smoothly and steadily. The error limits are in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8655-5.

Product FAQs

Purging or priming is a method to remove air bubbles from the barrel. To prime the piston, gently pull it up and then rapidly push down until it hits the base. Repeat this process at least five times. If the problem persists, examine the telescopic or inlet tube fitment.
Microlit bottle dispensers are appropriate with a wide range of reagents/chemicals because the materials used in the dispenser's wetted components (PTFE, Borosilicate glass, FEP, PP) do not react with the most common reagents. For any reagent compatibility please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, the Microlit dispensers are completely autoclavable at 121°C for 15-20 minutes at 15 psi. But, don't autoclave the dispenser unless it has been disassembled. Before autoclaving the Microlit dispenser, disassemble the piston and shaft. The volume adjustment knob must be kept unlocked. In the end, after autoclaving, it is necessary to re-calibrate. For the correct and detailed autoclaving procedure, please see the instruction manual.
Set the ml dispenser to the appropriate volume and dispense distilled water at least five times. Use an analytical or electronic balance to measure the dispensed liquid. The dispenser is calibrated if the mean and CV readings fall within the acceptable ISO limits (see specs chart). If not, please use the re-calibration procedure described in the instruction manual.
We advise rinsing the Microlit dispenser with deionized or distilled water before and after usage. The product instruction manual contains detailed instructions for maintaining and cleaning the Microlit dispenser.
We recommend maintaining the temperature of the instrument and the reagent between +15 C to +40 C.
The Microlit dispenser comes with five sets of adaptors ranging in size from 28, 32, 38, 40 to 45mm, facilitating it to be mounted on any standard reagent glass bottle.
For the second bottle, an additional set of four reservoir covers are provided in the sizes 32, 36, 40, and 45 mm.
Yes, these acid bottle top dispensers are compatible with stronger acids because the dispenser's wetted components (PTFE, PFA, Borosilicate glass, Zirconia, and FEP) are inert and do not react with them. However, it is highly suggested not to leave the instrument mounted over strong acids, as this can lead to discoloration or softening of the external material but will have no effect on its functionality. Please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, the dispenser can serve as an essential oil dispenser. However, we suggest that you use fluids with a maximum viscosity of 500cP.
The dispenser may not be able to aspirate the liquid from the second inlet tube if it is loose. To fix this, unscrew the second inlet and reassemble. Please refer to the instruction manual for the detailed assembling of the second inlet.
