Product FAQs

Purging or priming is performed to remove the air bubbles from the barrel. For priming, gently pull the piston up and then push down rapidly till the piston hits the base. Repeat this procedure for at least five times. If the problem still persists, please check the telescopic or inlet tube fitment.
Microlit dispensers are compatible with a wide range of reagents/chemicals as the materials of the wetted components of the dispenser (PTFE, Borosilicate glass, FEP, PP) do not react with the most commonly used reagents. For specific reagent compatibility please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, the Microlit dispensers are fully autoclavable at 121°C for 15-20 min at 15 psi. However, do not put the dispenser in the autoclave without disassembly. Disassemble the piston and shaft from the dispenser before autoclaving. The volume-adjustment knob must be kept in an unlocked position. Lastly, re-calibration is necessary after autoclaving. Please refer to the instruction manual for the correct detailed autoclaving procedure.
Set the ml dispenser at the nominal volume and dispense distilled water at least five times. Measure the dispensed liquid on an analytical or electronic balance. If the mean and CV of the readings is within the acceptable ISO limits (see specs chart), the dispenser is calibrated. If not, please follow the recalibration procedure in the instruction manual.
We recommend rinsing the Microlit dispenser with de-ionized or distilled water before and after the use. For detailed maintenance and cleaning of the dispenser, please refer to the product instruction manual.
The dispenser comes with a 5 set of adaptors of the size between 28, 32, 38,40, and 45mm that will allow the dispenser to be mounted on any standard reagent glass bottle.
The minimum length of the telescopic inlet tube of the bottle top dispenser is 170mm and is extendable up to 320 mm. We also offer 450mm inlet tube in additional purchase for any specific requirement.
Yes, to work against the stronger acids, these acid bottle top dispensers are compatible as the wetted components of the dispenser (PTFE, PFA, Borosilicate glass, Zirconia, and FEP) are inert and do not react with them. However, it is strongly advised not to leave the instrument mounted over strong acids as it may cause discoloration or softening of the external material but it will NOT affect its functionality. Please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, Microlit dispenser can function as an essential oil dispenser. However, we recommend using fluids with a maximum viscosity of 500 cP.
The dispenser may not be able to aspirate the liquid if the valve ball is stuck. It might happen due to the negative air pressure while air transportation. However, the following quick troubleshoot can easily be performed:
  • Check whether the Inlet tube is fitted firmly. If not, cut off the tube approx. 1cm from above and refix the tube again.
  • Check whether the ball in the valve system is stuck. Rinse the dispenser with distilled water so as to remove the reagent deposit inside the valve mechanism or Insert a thin wire at the inlet stub and push the ball with very little force to release the stuck valve ball.
