Product FAQs

Purging or priming removes air bubbles from the barrel. To prime, gently pull the piston up and then rapidly push down until it hits the base. Repeat the procedure at least five times. If the problem persists, please inspect the telescopic or inlet tube fittings.
Microlit bottle dispensers are suitable with an extensive range of reagents/chemicals because the dispenser's wetted components (PTFE, Borosilicate glass, FEP, and PP) do not react with the most common reagents. For any specific reagent compatibility please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, Microlit dispensers are completely autoclavable at 121°C for 15-20 minutes at 15 psi. Yet, do not put the dispenser in the autoclave unless it has been disassembled. Before autoclaving, disassemble the dispenser's piston and shaft. The volume adjustment knob must remain unlocked. At last, re-calibration is required after autoclaving. Please refer to the instruction manual for a detailed autoclaving procedure.
Set the ml dispenser to its nominal volume and dispense distilled water at least five times. Use an analytical/ electronic balance to measure the liquid that has been dispensed. If the mean and CV of the readings fall within the acceptable ISO limits (see specs chart), the dispenser is calibrated. If not, please follow the re-calibration steps outlined in the instruction manual.
We suggest rinsing the Microlit dispenser with deionized or distilled water before and after use. The Microlit product instruction manual contains detailed instructions for maintaining and cleaning the dispenser.
We adjust the piston so that it is smooth and does not require excessive force to dispense. This may result in auto-dispensing after the liquid is aspirated. However, this is not a problem and will not affect the accuracy of the instrument. It is recommended to immediately dispense the liquid after aspiration.
We recommend maintaining the temperature of the instrument and the reagent between +15 C to +40 C.
The Microlit dispenser comes with five sets of adaptors ranging in size from 28, 32, 38, 40, and 45mm, allowing it to be mounted on any standard reagent glass bottle.
The bottle top dispenser's telescopic inlet tube has a minimum length of 170mm and can be extended to 320mm. For any specific requirements, we also offer a 450mm inlet tube as an additional purchase.
Yes, these acid bottle top dispensers can work against stronger acids because the dispenser's wetted components (PTFE, PFA, Borosilicate glass, Zirconia, and FEP) are inert and do not react with them. However, it is highly recommended not to leave the instrument mounted in strong acids, as this can lead to discoloration or softening of the external material but will have no effect on its functionality. Please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
