What is a micropipette used for?

view 3878

A Micropipette is a standard laboratory instrument that is used to measure and transfer the small volumes of liquids from one container to another. Micropipettes are generally used in microbiology,  chemistry, medical and soil testing laboratories for precise transfer of different liquid samples.

Micropipettes are generally of two types and differ from each other according to the design and application. The single channel micropipettes are used in labs that perform research related to molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, cell culture, analytical chemistry, biochemistry and genetics while the multichannel micropipettes are recommended for ELISA (diagnostic test), molecular screening, kinetic studies and DNA amplification.
