The basic thumb rule of choosing the right pipette is, always choose the smallest pipette to handle the required volume of sample. This is important because when the set volume of the micropipette is close to the pipette’s minimum capacity, accuracy of the micropipette decreases. For example, if you dispense 20µL using the 2000µL pipette, you will get rather inaccurate or poor results. using the 100µL micropipette will give better results, whereas using a 20µL pipette would be ideal.
